# What the phone app shows when you're offline

> What the Broadstripes phone app shows when your phone loses connectivity, and what to do.

## The offline warning

When the Broadstripes phone app can't reach the server, a notice appears at the top of every screen:

**"You seem to be offline. Nothing will load or save until the connection returns."**

This notice tells you that the app has lost its connection to Broadstripes. Any screen you haven't finished loading won't load, and any changes you try to save won't reach the server until your connection comes back.

## What to do while you're offline

**Wait for the connection to return.** The app watches for signs that your phone is back online and removes the offline notice on its own. You don't need to refresh the page.

**Use the "Try again" button.** If you were already on a screen when you lost the connection, that screen shows a failure message and a **Try again** button once the request fails. Tap that button after your connection returns to reload the screen.

**If you tried to send an email and see "Could not send the email."**, your connection dropped before the email reached the server. Once you're back online, open the email sheet again and send it.

## When the app recovers automatically

The app detects that your connection is back in two ways: when any request gets a response from the server, even an error response, and when you switch back to the Broadstripes tab after your phone reconnects to the network. In either case, the offline notice disappears and screens that failed will try again when you tap their **Try again** buttons.
